Social standards in the supply chain
Würth IT GmbH builds on a social foundation characterized by reciprocity and cooperation. Fair cooperation means: compliance with guidelines and laws, internal company standards and a clear ethical mission statement. Or in short: compliance. As part of a global value chain, we are aware of our responsibility and reflect on our influence on the economic, social and ecological facets of society. We must prevent harm to our company, our business partners and our employees. Rules and standards must apply to everyone in order to enable fair cooperation. We are dependent on creating a transparent environment, recognizing misconduct and following up on indications of harmful behavior. The protection of fair competition, human rights and the environment are paramount. We consistently pursue any indications of violations. Würth IT GmbH assumes social responsibility with the help of sustainable supply chain management and audits more than 700 suppliers. The minimum requirements with regard to environmental protection, human rights and fair labor and business practices are checked.
We are also dependent on information about violations. We encourage all people in the Würth IT GmbH environment, internally or externally, to report breaches of rules or suspicions. Whistleblowers are protected by the company and specific indications are investigated. Discrimination, intimidation or other influence on whistleblowers is a breach of the rules in itself and will result in disciplinary action.

As a medium-sized and internationally active group of companies, we are aware of our responsibility. We pursue the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations member states in 2015, is a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and in the future. In 2023, Würth IT refrained from giving customer gifts at the end of the year and donated a budget of EUR 9,000 to local charitable organizations at all company locations in Germany. These Christmas donations are a sign of the company's solidarity with the cities and communities in which it operates and help to strengthen local initiatives.

A sustainable and resource-conserving diet for our employees not only promotes their health, but also contributes to climate protection. In our company restaurants, our employees have a daily choice of a "Fit Menu" for a balanced and healthy diet that meets the "DGE Quality Standard for Company Catering" and has been certified by the German Nutrition Society (DGE). In addition, the CO2 emissions of the individual dishes are shown in our company restaurants.

Since 1994, the Würth Group has been actively promoting the health of all employees with its "Fit mit Würth" health management program. The aim is to raise awareness of a healthy way of living and working. Since the beginning of 2022, Würth IT has been subsidizing membership of the EGYM Wellpass program for all employees. This offer allows employees to use more than 5,000 sports and health facilities throughout Germany.

Trainees and students are the young talents at Würth IT. During an extensive Welcome Week, the young talents get to know many locations and departments at the beginning. For this purpose, for example, internal training courses for professional competence development are offered, but experienced colleagues also report on their personal experience.

Girls' Day (Girls' Future Day) is a nationwide project for career and study guidance for girls. Würth IT organizes an event on this annual day of action in which schoolgirls learn about IT professions in which the proportion of women is less than 40 percent.

Since its opening in 2015, the IT waste heat from the Würth data center has been heating the building at our Würth IT site in Waldzimmern. This ensures a sustainable and climate-neutral energy supply for 130 employees.

The work-life balance of our employees is close to our hearts. For this reason, we have been offering the option of a sabbatical for several years. The sabbatical is a working time model for a longer special leave. After this, our employees can return to their jobs without any problems.

In order to create transparency for our employees, but also for our customers, suppliers and other business partners, we have derived specific rules of conduct based on our corporate values, which we have summarized in the Code of Compliance (CoC). This serves as a guideline for employees throughout the Würth Group, but also includes business partners. In addition to general principles of conduct, it also describes rules for dealing with business partners, avoiding conflicts of interest, handling information and implementing the CoC. In addition to the CoC, mandatory training courses are offered to employees. The content includes compliance basics, dealing with gifts and invitations, and data protection.

The philosophy of Special Olympics is very simple: to increase the self-confidence and acceptance of people with intellectual and multiple disabilities in society through sport. As part of the Würth Group, Würth IT supports this movement in many countries. Our corporate culture is characterized by very cordial cooperation.

Würth IT wants to encourage its employees to think about sustainability and climate protection measures in a variety of ways. Employees who have the option of using local public transport on their way to work are reimbursed for their job ticket.

In cooperation with Würth, Panorama Catering and the system provider Relevo, a reusable concept for takeaway food was introduced in Würth's company restaurants. Relevo offers a sustainable and smart reusable and to-go solution. The reusable packaging is ecologically safe, BPA-free, made in Germany and can be reused up to 1000 times. With this system, we want to make a contribution to the environment and to the conservation of valuable resources.

How important bees are for biodiversity is undisputed. Since 2018, our colleague Martin Christov has been breeding bee colonies at our site in Waldzimmern. There, they live safely on the premises of our Würth IT site. The harvested honey is very popular with our colleagues.

Akademie Würth was founded for this purpose in 1991, initially for the further training of employees, then also for external companies and customers. Akademie Würth thus now stands for 30 years of experience in further training and qualifications. With its holistic concept, the Academy provides support for in-company training as well as personal and professional development. The wide-ranging portfolio of Akademie Würth, with seminars on digitalization, new work, work-life balance and the sustainability management qualification program, shows that Akademie Würth is constantly evolving and addressing current trends.
