The award ceremony took place on Friday, June 27, as part of the German small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) summit in Mainz for all SMEs that were awarded the TOP 100 seal at the beginning of the year. Ranga Yogeshwar congratulates Würth IT GmbH from Waldzimmern on its TOP 100 success. The science journalist is accompanying the innovation competition, which is being held for the 32nd time, as a mentor.
In the scientific selection process, Würth IT was particularly impressive in size category C (over 200 employees in Germany) in the Innovative Processes and Organization category. This is the third time that the company has been among the top innovators. Marion Betz, Chief Financial Officer of Würth IT, and Robert Leuze, IT Compliance Officer of the Würth Group, accepted the award on behalf of the entire Würth IT.
The TOP 100 company portrait published on the occasion of the award states:
Automating operational processes, protecting data and utilizing digital potential - Würth IT GmbH realizes all of this as the central IT service provider of the Würth Group, the global market leader in the development, manufacture and sale of assembly and fastening materials. Based in Waldzimmern, it develops SAP and e-business applications, creates stable IT infrastructures and analyzes big data to ensure that more than 400 companies worldwide remain efficient at all times.
In doing so, it consistently follows the Würth Group's growth targets: instead of general solutions, it delivers specially tailored technologies that bring greater efficiency and sustainable competitive advantages. In addition, every strategically important project is assigned a sponsor from top management so that decisions can be made quickly. At the same time, the global presence in more than 80 countries strengthens the agile and increasingly international structures.
Practical innovations
In the innovation process, the Würth Group's IT service provider relies on a structured innovation funnel in which ideas are evaluated and implemented. For example, the previously manual requisition form process in the hardware area, which employees use to register their material or hardware requirements, has been converted into an end-to-end digital solution, thereby significantly accelerating the process. The PICO chatbot is a constant companion for the Würth Group's sales employees, simplifying sales processes. Robotic process automation optimizes repetitive workflows, while "HeyGen", an AI-supported video tool, enhances internal communication. A dedicated competence center for automation and an annual AI Summit fuel the exchange of knowledge, while the NEXT project is expanding the Würth Group's online store into a versatile marketplace.
This "go-getter mentality" ensures that all measures are closely aligned with the needs of the Würth Group.
Sharing knowledge, securing progress
Progress here is fed by global experience and a constant willingness to learn. Dr. Thomas Burkhart, Head of the Würth Group's IT division, sums this up as follows: "For us, innovation means actively shaping the future. By using new technologies and smart processes, we generate sustainable competitive advantages and ensure that we remain successful in the long term, even in a constantly changing market." Day after day, Würth IT GmbH proves that global reach and local roots are a powerful foundation for reliable IT structures - for the benefit of the entire Würth Group and external partners alike.
