During the joint Welcome Week from September 1 to 7, 2026, Würth IT welcomed twelve new Young Talents on board. The new recruits are starting in various apprenticeship programs and dual degree programs and, during their first week, received a comprehensive overview of the company, their future teams, and the numerous opportunities for professional development.
The new Young Talents are spread across the apprenticeship programs “IT Specialist for Application Development” and “IT Specialist for System Integration,” as well as the dual degree programs “Business Informatics,” “Applied Computer Science,” “Cybersecurity,” “International Business,” and “Freight Forwarding, Transportation, and Logistics.” The Welcome Week was organized by the Young Talents Team with support from the Young Talent Representation.
The goal of the annual Welcome Week is to help new colleagues get off to a successful start at Würth IT. In addition to important onboarding content, the focus was primarily on getting to know one another, establishing initial contacts with the teams, and participating in various workshops.
A Joint Kickoff and Varied Program
The event kicked off on September 1, 2026, in Künzelsau-Gaisbach, together with Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG and other companies in the training network. Participants gained their first impression of the size and diversity of the Würth Group.
Starting on the second day, the program continued at the locations in Niedernhall-Waldzimmern and Bad Mergentheim. Highlights of the program included a personal welcome from Managing Director Marion Betz, company and team introductions, workshops on topics such as accident prevention, fire safety, and compliance, as well as a tour of the Würth IT data center. In addition, the Young Talents received their work laptops, important information about the structure of their apprenticeship or dual study program, and a digital tour of the Berlin and Schorndorf locations.
“The start of one’s professional career is a defining moment. With Welcome Week, we want to show our new colleagues that at Würth IT, they will not only receive professional guidance but will also become part of a strong community,” said Marion Betz after welcoming the new Young Talents.
Sports, Team Spirit, and First Encounters: Positive Feedback After the First Week
Among the special highlights, in addition to the data center tour, was the active afternoon at the Waldenburg Sports School, featuring various athletic challenges and team-building activities.
Feedback from the new Young Talents was also consistently positive. Lukas Gubo, a dual-enrollment student in Applied Computer Science, said: “I especially enjoyed the active afternoon and the introductions by the individual teams.” Eric Schulz, a dual-track student in Business Informatics, emphasizes the special importance placed on young talent at Würth IT: “The friendly interactions among everyone and the fact that so much value is placed on the Young Talents. This makes you feel immediately integrated and well-received.” Laura Beser, a dual student in Business Informatics, particularly highlights the team spirit: “Everyone is very open, and there’s a family-like atmosphere. It feels like we’ve known each other forever.”
After Welcome Week: Starting Everyday Work Life
After Welcome Week concluded, the Young Talents joined their respective teams at the various Würth IT locations on September 8, 2026. There, the next phase of their apprenticeship or dual degree program begins.
Welcome Week 2026 laid the foundation for this: In addition to technical insights, the focus was particularly on getting to know one another personally, building initial networks, and fostering a sense of community. This allowed the new Young Talents to make important connections right from their first week and to start their professional future at Würth IT as a strong community.
