Location grows dynamically
Since 2022, the IT hub in Waldzimmern has doubled in size – from 2,200 to 4,600 square meters. The number of workstations has grown from 100 to 300. At its heart is a high-performance data center that now operates the IT infrastructure for over 80,000 users worldwide.
Focus on future viability and corporate culture
In his speech to the employees, Prof. Würth recalled the beginning of IT history at Würth with the introduction of an IBM Abacus computer in 1970 - a decision that laid the foundation for the digitalization of the Würth Group today. "Technology alone is not enough - it needs a management culture with heart and vision."
Professor Würth also expressly praised the international cooperation and decentralized structure of Würth IT. The consistent further development of the IT security structures and the strong growth with over 1,600 employees in nine countries worldwide.
Bernd Herrmann, Member of the Central Management Board of the Würth Group, emphasized: "We have taken our organization to the next level in recent years. Our IT has never been so good - thanks to this dedicated, international team."
During a subsequent tour of the building, Prof. Würth gained further insights into the team's organization, projects and culture. Dr. Thomas Burkhart, Executive Vice President of IT at the Würth Group, rounded off the visit: "This appreciation provides a tailwind for everything we plan to do together in the future."
